Mussey Grade Road November 2003 This image reflects the southern view from what used to be the home of Chi Varnado, her husband Kent Richardson, and their son, Chance Varnado-Richardson. Their house was one of four located on property that had been in the Varnado name for three generations. All four houses were destroyed by the fire, along with all but one of a number of outbuildings; an old wooden outhouse. Fire officials estimate that the fire burned at it's hottest temperature (2000 to 3000 degrees Fahrenheit) when it hit the Varnado property, as evidenced by a melted down wood burning stove. |
